After the Japanese Beetle Invasion

A mass of japanese beetles attacks a hibiscus flower Those black clumps on the leaves are japanese beetles If you look in the upper left there is another flower with an equally disgusting mass of beetles on it

Temporary Reprieve

As its cold now, no more beetles pester the humble garden. However, I'm not sure the three feet of snow was a good trade.

Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor gloom of night keeps the UPS man away In the future, people will probably think that the dual snow piles on either side of the driveway was some sort of pleasurable snow shoveling ritual
