Socket 499 was introduced in 1996 and follows the PGA-ZIF design common to many sockets such as Socket 370. It has 499 contacts, has an FSB of 66 MHz, and an operating voltage of 3.3V. Socket 499 was used for the DEC Alpha 21164a EV56 line of CPUs operating at 366, 433, 466, 500, 533, 600, 633 and 667 MHz.
